Orlando nightclub massacre: New police body-cam video released …

New videos released Wednesday from body-cams on officers responding to the attack at a gay nightclub in Orlando show shattered glass inside the club, the sounds of automatic gunfire and an officer shouting to the gunman, “Come out with your hands up or you will die!”

The 11 hours of video show Pulse patrons running from the club and officers shouting, “Just go!” as they direct them to safety across the street.

In another video, an officer off camera inside the club checks for the pulse of a patron only to announce the victim is dead.

Another officer later is heard in a video realizing that the massacre is an act of terrorism.

“It’s terrorism in Orlando,” the officer is heard saying of gunman Omar Mateen. “He pledged something to the Islamic State.”

The 11 hours of footage were given to the Orlando Sentinel, FOX 35 Orlando, and ABC News through a public

Neb. lawmaker: ‘[Nikko] will die in prison, before he is ever put to death’

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — With convicted spree killer Nikko Jenkins now on death row, some law makers are speaking out.

Nebraska State Senator Bob Krist voted to repeal the state’s death penalty. Krist said having the death penalty in the state will cost taxpayers a lot of money. Krist explains there’s one major problem he thinks many people are unaware of.

“My prediction is he will die in prison, before he is ever put to death,” Krist told WOWT 6 News.

According to Krist, that’s because the drugs used for lethal injection aren’t even available.

In a statement from the Department of Corrections, a representative told WOWT 6 News, “The department continues to work on obtaining the substances needed to carry out death penalty sentences.”

“If you remember, it wasn’t too long ago, the state’s attorney had to basically tell the state

Orlando police release new body-camera video from Pulse nightclub shooting

The Orlando Police Department released 11 hours of new body camera footage on Wednesday from inside the Pulse nightclub on the night of the worst mass shooting in modern American history, almost one year ago.

The footage contains dramatic scenes of chaos and carnage as first responders tried to save the wounded and hunt down the shooter, who killed 49 people in the name of the Islamic State.

In a series of interviews before the release of the footage, broadcast Wednesday on “World News Tonight With David Muir” and “Nightline,” first responders and survivors told ABC News that the memories of that night and the emotions stirred by them are still raw.

“Several

Convicted Spree Killer Nikko Jenkins will get the death penalty

OMAHA, Neb. – A panel of three judges have sentenced Nikko Jenkins to death for the four homicides he has been found guilty for.

Jenkins was convicted of four counts of first-degree murder for the August 2013 shooting deaths in and around Omaha of Juan Uribe-Pena, Jorge Cajiga-Ruiz, Curtis Bradford and Andrea Kruger in three separate attacks.

Kruger was his final victim. Prosecutors say Jenkins pulled Kruger from her car, shot her four times in the street and then stole her vehicle.

Jenkins pleaded no contest in 2014, but his sentencing has been delayed for years because of concerns about his mental competency.
