In a statement, West Midlands Police said the arrests were “pre-planned and intelligence led,” and insisted there is no threat to public safety.

National Action became the UK’s first-ever neo-Nazi terrorist group to be banned in the UK when the government outlawed it in December 2016.

Who are National Action?

National Action is a far-right neo-Nazi organisation.

Founded in 2013, three years later it was proscribed as a terrorist group by the government.

The group is secretive, and has rules to prevent members from talking openly about the organisation.

In March last year, an undercover investigation by ITV found that its members were still meeting in secret.

Heroes of Las Vegas: the hospital staff called to action after the mass shooting

Sunrise Hospital’s emergency room was already full at about 10pm on 1 October when a police officer dropping off an accident victim received a call on his radio announcing: “Shots fired.”

Doctor Kevin Menes and nurse Rhonda Davis looked up from their charts. “Is this for real?” Menes asked. A series of gunshots crackled through the officer’s radio in automatic bursts. It sounded like a combat zone. As he ran out, the officer said, “That’s the Route 91 concert.”

Immediately, Menes realized there would be hundreds if not thousands of victims, and Sunrise – Las Vegas’s largest trauma center and the hospital nearest to the site of the country music festival – would probably receive the most.

He and Davis started to prepare. Menes contacted house supervisor Kat Comanescu, who then summoned all available nurses to the ER to help move or discharge patients.

Gunman wildly sprays school with bullets, and quick action prevents mass bloodshed

Students were playing in the schoolyard at Rancho Tehama Elementary, waiting for the morning bell to ring, when gunshots erupted a quarter mile away.

Teachers and staff immediately rushed the children into classrooms and under desks, locking the doors.

A white Ford F-150 crashed through the front gate as they hunkered down, the driver emerging with a semiautomatic rifle. Wearing a ballistics vest, he stormed into the quad and shot at the walls and windows, but was unable to enter the schoolrooms. After several agonizing minutes, the shots stopped. The gunman got back in the stolen pickup and moved on to other targets in this dusty enclave in the hayfields of Northern California.

Thailand tsunami warning: Brits at risk as ‘URGENT’ calls made for action

Now urgent calls have been made to upgrade Thailand’s warning towers, detection buoys and public announcement systems to prepare for potential future tsunamis.

Deputy general of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department, Kobchai Boonyaorana, told Reuters: “Around 70-80%, or around 2,000 pieces, need to be taken care of.

“We set up this system since 2006 so it needs to be maintained.
