Colerain Twp. police chief makes bold statements about fatal shooting at party

Despite hearing what happened at 9917 Capstan Drive, Nicole Bracey values the years she spent living just a few blocks away.

“I love Colerain,” she said. “I love this area. It’s a great school district.”

Like others, Bracey was alarmed when detectives in Colerain Township said someone shot and killed Autum Garrett and injured eight others during what was initially called a gender-reveal party last month at the home on Capstan Drive.

Police now say there was no pending birth to celebrate.

On Monday, Colerain Police Chief Mark Denney issued a statement saying, “Investigators have found multiple connections between individuals attending the party and three different drug circles, which are now being investigated concurrently.”

Denney continued, “We expect a very long and thorough investigation that will result in multiple arrests… In no way has this investigation hit a dead-end or gone ‘cold.’ New information is learned daily and interviews continue

Police: Mass shooting at Colerain gender reveal party was targeted, related to drug rings

The story of a mass shooting at a gender-reveal party for a fake pregnancy only gets stranger.

On Tuesday, Colerain Township Police announced that witnesses to the July shooting that killed a 22-year-old woman and injured nine others have connections to three different drug rings.

“Investigators keep running into the same people in every lead, and finding drug trafficking,” Police Chief Mark Denney told The Enquirer. “But there are no specific details that we can put out at this time.”

The July 8 shooting on Capstan Drive was initially described to

Police: Colerain Twp. mass shooting was targeted

A shooting at a gender reveal party that left a woman dead and eight people injured was targeted, Colerain Police said.

“All information points to the fact that this was a planned, targeted incident that was in no way random,” Colerain police said in a statement released Tuesday.

People at the party have been tied to drug rings, police said.

Nine people were shot – one fatally – at a gender reveal party on July 8 on Capstan Drive. Autumn Garrett was killed and several children were injured, police said.

Police released a statement Tuesday saying that witnesses have not cooperated with police in their investigation, omitting information or even lying about what happened that evening.

“Investigators have found multiple connections between individuals attending the party and three different drug circles, which are now being investigated concurrently,” Colerain Police Public Information Officer James Love wrote. “We expect

Police ID 9 shot in Colerain Township mass shooting

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WLWT) —Nine people were shot – one fatally – in a July shooting in Colerain Township. On Friday, more than a month after the mass shooting, police identified all nine of the victims.

The investigation into the July 8 shooting has been marred by controversy. False information has hindered the investigation, Colerain Township police said, and no arrests have been made.

A total of 14 shots were fired inside a Capstan Drive home during what was supposed to be a party to reveal the gender of a baby. The problem was, there was no baby, police said. The alleged mother-to-be, 21-year-old Cheyanne Willis, was not even pregnant, police said.

It still remains unclear why Willis claimed that she was pregnant. Willis was one of the nine people shot in July, and had previously claimed that her unborn child was killed as a result of the shooting.

Homeowner’s gun found in front yard after mass shooting in Colerain Township, police report says

COLERAIN TWP., Ohio – How did a gun from the “homeowner” where nine people were shot Saturday wind up in the front yard?

Did someone from the rented home pursue the fleeing shooters? Did one of the shooters drop it?

Police Chief Mark Denney told WCPO the gun was not loaded and there was no shootout. He said he thought the renter owns the gun.

WCPO asked Denney to elaborate after an abbreviated initial Incident Report released by Colerain police Wednesday raised more questions about the case.

The report, filed by Colerain patrol officer Kurt Magoteaux, says a pistol belonging to “the homeowner” was found in the front yard. The home is rented out by VineBrook Homes of Huber Heights, Ohio, according to the Hamilton County Auditor’s website. Who rented the house is unknown. No one at VineBrook answered the phone when WCPO called Wednesday afternoon.

The report says multiple people were “outside screaming

Colerain gender reveal party shooting: $10,000 reward offered in …

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Someone has stepped up to offer a $10,000 reward for Saturday’s mass shooting at a gender reveal party.

Jim Love, Colerain Township police spokesman, said the donor wants to remain anonymous but is offering the money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter or shooters.

Nine people were shot, one fatally, as they watched a movie inside a home on Capstan Drive. Police said they believe two people entered the home and opened fire at about 11:20 p.m.

A witness outside said the figures wore hoodies but couldn’t provide much more of a description.

“There is little kids hurt and everything,” she told a 911 operator.
