Mandalay Bay hotel staff had numerous run-ins with Vegas gunman: company

LAS VEGAS — The parent company of the Las Vegas hotel-casino where a gunman opened fire Oct. 1, causing the deadliest mass shooting in recent U.S. history, says hotel staff had more than 10 interactions with Stephen Paddock in the three days leading up to the massacre. At least 58 people were killed and hundred injured.

CBS affiliate KLAS-TV reports that a statement released by MGM Resorts International says the interactions between Paddock and Mandalay Bay employees, which included a room service delivery and a call with housekeeping on the day of the shooting, were “normal in nature.”

“MGM Resorts is focused on supporting the health and welfare of our guests. All MGM Resorts properties follow a health and welfare check operating procedure that stipulates a welfare check be performed after two consecutive days where a Do-Not-Disturb sign has been displayed on the door, and

Las Vegas Gunman Interacted With Hotel Staff More Than 10 Times Before Mass Shooting

(LAS VEGAS) — The parent company of the Las Vegas hotel-casino where a gunman opened fire Oct. 1, causing the deadliest mass shooting in recent U.S. history, says hotel staff had more than 10 interactions with Stephen Paddock in the three days leading up to the massacre.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that a statement released by MGM Resorts International says the interactions between Paddock and Mandalay Bay employees, which included a room service delivery and a call with housekeeping on the day of the shooting, were “normal in nature.”

Police say Paddock shot at attendees of the Route 91 Harvest country music festival from the broken windows of his 32nd-floor suite that night, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds.

The 64-year-old Paddock killed himself just before authorities stormed his room.

Two security guards shot to death at hotel-casino in Las Vegas; suspect in critical condition

Two security guards were shot dead inside a hotel room at a Las Vegas hotel-casino early Saturday morning before the gunman fled and ultimately shot and injured himself.

Las Vegas Police Lt. Dan McGrath said the shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. at Arizona Charlie’s Hotel and Casino on Decatur Boulevard, after a woman called security to report a disturbance.

The guards, employed by the casino, had entered the room on the hotel’s fourth floor and were shot with a handgun by the man, who was the lone occupant in the room, McGrath said.

He said the suspect then fled down the hallway with the gun and exited the rear of the casino, which is adjacent to a residential neighborhood.

Hotel Where Las Vegas Gunman Carried Out Attack Is Laying Off Employees After Mass Shooting

The hotel where the Las Vegas gunman carried out a sniping attack on concertgoers last month is laying off employees and cutting back its hours—a cost-cutting measure as it deals with a shrinking number of guests since the hotel saw the deadliest mass shooting in recent U.S. history.

Several hundred employees at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino were affected by the cuts, according to local NPR affiliate KNPR.

The cuts came after the hotel’s parent company, MGM, announced its third-quarter earnings, the first financial disclosure since the Oct. 1 attack that left 58 dead and more than 500 others injured after gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire from his hotel room on the 32nd floor. After the attack, MGM Resorts’ stock plummeted but had steadily increased to its levels before the shooting. But company revenue is down 72 percent compared to last year’s earnings in the same quarter, decreasing from $535.6 million to

Las Vegas Mass Shooting Survivors Sue Hotel and Concert Organizers, Claiming Negligence

At least two lawsuits have been filed by survivors of the mass shooting at a Las Vegas music concert earlier this month — signaling the possible start of other legal claims against the event organizers, the weapons’ manufacturers and the hotel where the gunman stayed.

In a suit filed Wednesday, 10 of the deadly rampage’s victims allege battery, assault and negligence, PEOPLE confirms.

They named as defendants MGM Resorts International, which owns the venue where the Route 91 Harvest festival was held, and its subsidiary Mandalay Corp., which owns the Mandalay Bay hotel where Stephen Paddock was staying when he fired down onto the event the night of Oct. 1.

The proposed class-action suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, also named Live Nation Entertainment, which organized the festival, and the shooter’s estate.

In a separate claim, last
