‘Homeless hero’ Chris Parker took pictures of the wounded after Manchester Arena attack

Sickening CCTV footage has emerged of the ‘homeless hero’ of the Manchester Arena bombing taking photos of the bloody aftermath as victims lay dying on the ground.

Chris Parker, 33, previously said that he rushed into the concert hall to help in the minutes after the May 22 bomb.

But CCTV footage, shown in his trial at Manchester Crown Court, shows him holding his phone while passing bloody scenes and even stealing from the wounded.

One of the images found on Parker’s mobile phone is understood to have been used in international media coverage although it has not been officially confirmed exactly how the image ended up there.

The Manchester Evening News has learnt that a series of graphic images were recovered from Parker’s phone following his arrest.

Our sister paperhas seen pictures recovered from Parker’s phone which appear to depict the graphic aftermath of the blast.

Manchester has a Soviet statue of Engels. Shame no one asked the city’s Ukrainians

I first heard that Manchester’s city centre had a new statue when pictures appeared on my Twitter timeline on Monday morning. The media coverage of the project had passed me by. For those of you who also missed it, Turner prize-nominated artist Phil Collins has moved a Soviet-era statue of Friedrich Engels from Ukraine and permanently installed it in Manchester as part of the Manchester International Festival. On Sunday, the festival closed and the statue was unveiled as part of a live film event called Ceremony.

My first reaction was anger. Why have we put up a piece of Soviet propaganda in the centre of Manchester? I then wondered what the communities in Manchester who have been affected by communism would think.

My wife is third-generation British Ukrainian. Her grandparents were captured by the Germans and worked in forced labour in Germany

Inquest into Manchester Arena mass murderer Salman Abedi opened and adjourned

An inquest into the death of Manchester Arena mass murderer Salman Abedi was opened and adjourned by a coroner today in a court hearing lasting five minutes.

A Greater Manchester Police detective told senior Manchester coroner Nigel Meadows that Abedi, 22, detonated an ‘improvised explosive device’ in the City Room at the Arena at 10.31pm on May 22.

Detective Chief Inspector David Warren, reading from a statement during the brief hearing at the coroner’s court at Manchester Town Hall, said the force of the resulting explosion ‘severely disrupted’ his body and he died at the scene.

The City Room within the venue was described as a large foyer area immediately outside the Arena with exits to the underground car park and via a concourse to Manchester Victoria railway station.

At the time of the explosion, the court heard it was full of people leaving the building after a concert by US singer Ariana Grande.

Manchester Mayor Claims Mass Murderer Salman Abedi “Was a Terrorist, Not a Muslim”

Well, whaddaya know? Salman Ramadan Abedi, the Manchester suicide bomber who slaughtered 22 people, including children as young as eight, wasn’t a real Muslim. He wasn’t a Muslim at all.

That’s according to Andy Burnham, the mayor of Manchester.

Burnham says that Abedi’s sickening act had nothing to with Islam, despite the fact that Abedi, a devout follower of Allah, is believed to have received ISIS training, and notwithstanding the bomber having been a regular worshiper who only stopped attending the local mosque when its imam spoke out against ISIS.

During a radio interview, Burnham said this:

The message that I would want to get over — and this is how the vast majority of people will feel — this man was a terrorist, not a Muslim.

He does

The Left’s Road Leads to Manchester

On Monday night, a mass murderer killed 22 people and injured 59 at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.

The perpetrator was a man named Salman Ramadan Abedi, a man whom friends described as a “devout” Muslim who had memorized the entire Qur’an. He was known to British authorities as a terror threat and had been in touch with a recruiter for the Islamic State (ISIS).

I hadn’t heard of Salman Abedi before he murdered all those little girls and their friends and family members at the Ariana Grande concert, but when I recently spoke at Truman State University in Missouri, the University at Buffalo, and Gettysburg College, and then at an event in Iceland, I discussed the belief system that incites people such as Salman Abedi to violence. I explored the ways in which jihad terrorists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify

MANCHESTER TERROR: The face of a mass murderer

THE suicide bomber who killed 22 people and injured 59 more at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester was a university dropout who may have made secret trips to Syria to train for the attack.

The young man, named by British police as Salman Abedi, exploded a homemade bomb and died inside Manchester Arena at the end of the US pop star’s performance on Monday night.

UK police revealed, Mr Abedi was a 23-year-old British national of Libyan descent.

Salman Ramadan Abedi named by police as Manchester Arena attacker

The man who murdered 22 people and injured 59 others has been named as Salman Ramadan Abedi, a Mancunian of Libyan descent.

Police confirmed the 22-year-old’s identity after officials in the United States passed it to news reporters, apparently against the wishes of the British police and security services.

Abedi was known to the security services but was not part of any active investigation or regarded as a high risk. He was viewed as a peripheral figure in much the same way as the Westminster attacker, Khalid Masood.

The police and security services are trying to establish whether he worked alone or was part of a wider network that helped him with the bomb. Although Islamic State has claimed responsibility, the police have found no evidence to support this.

Even before Abedi was named, several members of south Manchester’s Libyan community wondered whether the suicide bomber was one

Manchester Arena attacker named by police as Salman Ramadan Abedi

The man who murdered 22 people and injured 59 others has been named as Salman Ramadan Abedi, a Mancunian of Libyan descent.

Police confirmed the 22-year-old’s identity after officials in the United States passed it to news reporters, apparently against the wishes of the police and security services in the UK.

Earlier, armed police sealed off Elsmore Road, a street in the Fallowfield area of south Manchester, and then carried out a controlled explosion at the terraced house where Abedi lived.

Officers also searched the home of his brother Ismael in the Chorlton area of south Manchester. They arrested a 23-year-old man near an address where the family had previously lived, prompting speculation that Ismael Abedi had been detained.

Salman Abedi is thought to have been known to both the police and the security services. A few hours after the attack, Islamic State claimed it

Manchester man implicated in fatal Mass. shooting; faces rape, kidnapping, armed robbery charges elsewhere

A Manchester man has been implicated in a Massachusetts crime spree Monday night that involved the killing of a pizza delivery driver in Lynn, Mass., and the rape of a store clerk in North Andover, Mass., the Boston Herald reported.

Brian G. Brito, 21, has been charged with aggravated rape, kidnapping and armed robbery by North Andover police. Authorities say he is a person of interest in the earlier shooting death of Sina Zangiband, a pizza delivery driver working in Lynn.

“I can’t believe it. I can’t digest it. I can’t process it in my mind — it couldn’t happen to him,” Marven, best friends with Sina Zangiband, told the Herald. Marven spoke outside the Zangliband family home in Salem, Mass., where the anguished cries of relatives could be heard.

Brito appeared in Peabody District Court Tuesday morning and pleaded not guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and
