FBI Knew Las Vegas Gunman Had Big Gun Stashes, Records Say – NBC 5 Dallas

FBI agents knew the gunman behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history left behind big caches of guns, ammunition and explosives when they sought warrants to search his properties and online accounts, according to court documents released Friday.

However, new questions were raised after a U.S. judge in Nevada unsealed the documents revealing some of what federal agents had learned about shooter Stephen Paddock in the week after the Las Vegas attack.

The 315 pages of FBI affidavits provide just a glimpse of what investigators found during initial searches of Paddock’s car and home after police found him dead late Oct. 1 in a hotel room at the Mandalay Bay resort. Girlfriend Marilou Danley’s casino player rewards card was with him, although she was in the Philippines at the time.

The documents made public did not answer the key question: What motivated Paddock, a 64-year-old high-stakes gambler,

Court records released on Clovis mass shooting suspect

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) –

We are continuing to learn more details on the Clovis-Carver Public Library shooting incident that left two people dead and four injured.

Court records released today says 16-year-old Nathaniel Jouett took two handguns from his father’s safe. His father then called 911 to report the guns missing just 16 minutes after police were alerted of the shooting.

Jouett admitted to the shooting and said it’s something he’s been thinking about “for a while.”

“I didn’t think I would do it,” said Jouett, “I thought I would kill myself or a bunch of people.”

Jouett continued on by telling officers that he didn’t intend to shoot anyone in particular and he just began shooting and yelling.

Court records show that Jouett continued to walk through the library until he was confronted by police.

He admitted to officers that he was kind of

Records: Suspected teen gunman tells police ‘I was mad’

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) — The teenager accused of gunning down two employees inside a New Mexico public library this week and seriously wounding four others, including a 10-year-old boy, had planned to shoot up his high school but went to the library instead, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

Nathaniel Jouett, 16, told police he did not know why he picked the Clovis-Carver Public Library and that he did not know anyone there, said the documents filed in connection with Monday’s shooting rampage in the rural community of Clovis.

But he told investigators he had wanted to target his high school for a long time because he was “mad at everyone since he got kicked out of school last year,” the documents said. He also told them he felt like no one liked him.

Jouett was on a two-day

Sheley’s Missouri trial a year away, court records show

HILLSBORO, Mo. – The final trial of Sterling spree killer Nicholas Sheley won’t begin for at least a year.

Sheley, 36, already serving six life sentences for murdering six people in Illinois in between June 23 and 30, 2008, will be tried Jan. 8 for the beating deaths of Tom and Jill Estes, 54, who were attacked outside a Festus, Missouri, hotel.

Jury selection is set for Jan. 4 and 5, 2018, Jefferson County court records show. Sheley faces the death penalty if convicted.

The case will be heard by a new circuit judge: Democrat Nathan Stewart, elected in 2010, was defeated Nov. 8 by Republican Dianna Bartels.

In May 2014, Sheley was convicted in Rock Island County Court of killing four people in Rock Falls – Brock Branson, 29; his fiancee Kilynna Blake, 20; her 2-year-old son Dayan; and Kenneth Ulve, 25. In November 2012, he was convicted in Whiteside County Court of
