Pro-Trump School Shooter Praised Hitler, Hinted of Attacks Online …

We are learning more about a gunman who shot up a New Mexico school on December 7th. The gunman killed students Francisco Fernandez and Casey Marquez before failing to get more victims, authorities say, and ultimately committed suicide with a firearm. The FBI identified the suspect as 21-year-old William Edward Atchison, and more is being learned about him according to a Daily Beast report.

Atchison had a lengthy online history, darting back and forth between sites including mainstream video game store Steam, infamous neo-Nazi site The Daily Stormer, and Encyclopedia Dramatica, which describes itself as a satirical Wikipedia. He went by dozens of user names, some described as racist.

On Dramatica, where he was sometimes a moderator, he actually alienated other users with “shitty” pro-Trump commentaries on the front page. He also put up memes the Beast described as pro-Columbine. The site actually banned one of his accounts, “Al Gore,” for

When Is It a Good Time to Talk About Gun Safety? The Sandy Hook Elementary School Mass Shooting – Five Years …

Today is the 5th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting. So, is today a good time to talk about gun policy? Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) interviewed on CBSN: “We have to be talking about policy change every single day in this country or we’ll never end up doing anything about the 90 people a day who die.”

Vox.com has a site which tracks gun violence and mass shootings since Sandy Hook. The site includes an interactive map displaying the dates and locations of mass shootings since Sandy Hook.

Gunman disguised himself, but mass shooting at New Mexico school cut short, police say – TwinCities.com

By RUSSELL CONTRERAS

AZTEC, N.M. (AP) — A 21-year-old gunman who disguised himself as a student to get into a New Mexico high school where he killed two students had caught the attention of U.S. investigators more than a year ago, authorities said Friday.

William Atchison, a former student at small-town Aztec High School, had legally purchased a handgun at a local store a month ago and planned the attack, authorities said. He left a message on a thumb drive found on his body that detailed his plan to wait until the students got off buses and made their way to class.

He mingled with students, then walked into school with them and went into a second-floor bathroom to “gear up.” Atchison’s plan was to shoot up a classroom and then kill himself.

“Work sucks, school sucks, life sucks. I just want out of this (expletive),” he wrote.

More lives could have been lost had

Children return to school after mass shooting in northern California

RANCHO TEHAMA, Calif. (WHDH) — Children in northern California returned to school on Monday after a deadly shooting two weeks ago.

The gunman killed five people, including his wife and injured eight other people. He also used his car as a weapon to ram it into other vehicles and was seen getting out of his car to shoot people inside their cars.

Alejandro Hernandez, 6, was shot in the foot and his right lung. His mother, Angelica Monroy, said doctors told her if he had been hit from the side, he would have been killed. She said her son is too afraid to go back to schoo. once he is done recovering.

Monroy said her family will be moving because the memories of the shooting are too painful for them.

School Trip To D.C. Canceled Over Fears Of Mass Shooting : NPR

LULU GARCIA-NAVARRO, HOST:

An eighth-grade class trip to Washington, D.C., can often be the highlight of grade school – see the White House, meet your member of Congress. But students from North Ridgeville City School District outside of Cleveland, Ohio were notified recently their D.C. trip was canceled. Administrators called it off because of fears of a terrorist attack or a mass shooting. District Superintendent Jim Powell had to make the decision. And he joins us now from Avon, Ohio to talk about it. Welcome to the program.

JIM POWELL: Thank you.

GARCIA-NAVARRO: So that must have been a tough call.

POWELL: Very tough – yes.

GARCIA-NAVARRO: Can you give us a sense of why you decided to make it?

POWELL: Well, start of the school year, we had parent meetings. And we had

How a school custodian saved students from Nor Cal mass murderer

TEHAMA, Calif. — As awful as it was, this week’s shooting at a Northern California elementary school could have been a lot worse, if not for the actions of a custodian.

The school district’s superintendent credits the custodian for drawing the attention and gunfire of the shooter away from students just long enough for them to get to safety.

A crucial diversion

School started as usual Tuesday morning at Rancho Tehama Elementary. Many students were still outside as parents dropped their kids off and the morning bell was about to ring. But instead, another sound rang out.

“About that time, a shot was heard,” said Richard Fitzpatrick, superintendent of the Corning Union Elementary School District. “The school secretary along with some school personnel were drawn to the attention of that one shot and then two shots immediately thereafter.”

The school immediately went into lockdown. Teachers and staff members began hurrying the children into classrooms and
