Exploiting the Florida High School Spree-Killing for Political Gain

After a disturbed former student shot and killed at least 17 people yesterday afternoon at a Miami-area high school, the gun-grabbing Left demanded even more regulation of firearms, which, despite constitutional protections, are already the most heavily regulated consumer good in America.

President Trump expressed sympathy for the victims. “My prayers and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible Florida shooting. No child, teacher or anyone else should ever feel unsafe in an American school,” Trump tweeted.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) described the attack as “absolutely pure evil.”

The Valentine’s Day massacre took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. At least 14 people have been hospitalized.

The alleged spree killer is Nikolas Cruz, 19, who had previously been a student at that high school but was expelled because of a fight. After using what was described as an AR-15-style rifle on those in the facility, Cruz

‘Horrific murder spree’ leaves 5 dead in Kentucky: Sheriff

Five people, including a suspect, are dead after a string of killings Saturday in northeast Kentucky, authorities said.

Deputies in Johnson County, Ky., found two bodies in a home, then in the search for the suspect, Joseph Nickell, two additional people were found dead. Deputies say Nickell committed suicide.

“This has been a horrific murder spree,” said Johnson County Sheriff Dwayne Price. “There are no words to describe the heartbreak in seeing four lives taken due to the actions of one man. I have worked in law enforcement for 34 years. This is one of the most disturbing acts of violence I have ever seen.”

Deputies got a call about 3:30 p.m. about a shooting in a rural home near the city of Paintsville, Ky. After responding, they found two people who

Ariz. Spree Killer Murdered Mom, Stepfather and 7 More in 2017, Police Claim

Phoenix police say they have linked the slayings of nine people to a 35-year-old man who has been behind bars since Dec. 17, when he was arrested for allegedly murdering his mother and stepfather.

Cleophus Cooksey Jr. has been described as a suspected serial killer by investigators, who claim they have uncovered evidence tying him to as many as seven other unsolved homicides over less than a month, PEOPLE confirms.

His mother, 56-year-old Rene Cooksey, and his stepfather, Edward Nunn, 54, were fatally shot on Dec. 17.

Authorities also alleged that Cleophus killed Andrew Remillard and Parker Gregory Smith, who were shot to death on Nov. 27, and Salim Richards, who was killed five days later.

What’s more, investigators suspect he was behind the Dec. 11, shooting death of his ex-girlfriend’s brother Jesus Bonifacio Real, the Dec. 13 killing of LaTorrie Beckford and, two days later, the slaying of Kris Cameron.

A day before he

Police charge possible Phoenix spree killer with nine murders

PHOENIX — Police accused a possible Phoenix spree killer Thursday of murdering nine people during a three-week span last year, which would make him one of the most prolific killers in state history.

The Phoenix Police Department said 35-year-old Cleophus Cooksey Jr. was arrested in December for allegedly killing his mother, Rene, and stepfather, Edward Nunn.

Police said Cooksey was linked to the crimes through physical evidence — including ballistics — and witness statements but did not go into more specifics.

Cooksey — who also went by Playboy — already had a criminal record. He had previously been

Darren Criss Talks Playing Spree Killer Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace

The second series in Ryan Murphy‘s American Crime Story franchise premieres tonight with the story of the murder of Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace (Edgar Ramirez) outside his palatial Miami Beach home in 1997 at the hands of spree killer Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss).

Inspired by actual events and based on the book Vulgar Favors by Maureen Orth, The Assassination of Gianni Versace begins with the shooting of Versace outside his home in South Beach, but also traces the cross-country, three-month spree of murders committed by Cunanan and examines how cultural homophobia and prejudice delayed law enforcement’s capture of the murderer.

Parade.com spoke to the former Glee star about getting inside the head of the murderer who was on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List.

Is this the most difficult role you’ve played?

An actor’s job playing anybody has to take into account not only the worst moments, but the best moments, and

Homicide victims earlier than Versace: Andrew Cunanan’s 1997 spree

The victims who came before Versace: How murderer Andrew Cunanan went on a homicidal cross-country spree that culminated in the death of the Italian fashion designer and the killer’s own suicide in 1997

The manhunt and the crimes that transfixed America in 1997 had elements that could have been lifted right out of a movie plot: high society, high fashion, celebrity, nightlife, sadomasochism – and a pathological liar genius who progressed to serial murder. By the time Gianni Versace was shot dead outside his Miami mansion on July 15, 1997, killer Andrew Cunanan had left behind a web of terror across the country and even more unanswered questions.

And, while the Italian fashion designer was his most famous victim, Cunanan killed at least four men before him – some targeted and others, seemingly, at random.

The killings are the subject of the controversial
