HIDING HOLMES UPDATE: Aurora theater shooter transferred to Pennsylvania prison

DENVER (KKTV) – Where is James Holmes? For more than a year, survivors of the Aurora theater shooting demanded to know.

“This is a clear victims’ rights issue,” said Tom Sullivan in an interview with reporter Katie Pelton last year. Sullivan’s son, Alex, was gunned down by Holmes on his 27th birthday.

“We should be able to know, you know, where he is.”

Early Thursday morning, the answer was finally revealed. Holmes is serving his life sentence in a federal prison in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, about a three-hour drive northwest of Philadelphia.

It’s been a long time coming for victims, who have pleaded for this information.

“That is the epitome of the boogeyman,” Sullivan told Pelton last year. “To people who are woken up at night, you know, in a cold sweat from having a nightmare … it would be

Naomi Judd Gives Fans Health Update at Age 71 – Closer Weekly

In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, country legend Naomi Judd opens up about overcoming her incredible battles and how she is celebrating life now at 71 years old. “It’s a miracle that I’m still here! I don’t know how I’ve made it this far,” Naomi admits to Closer of her health. “But here I am, fully oriented to life, and an overachiever!”

She is well-known for conquering the country music world with her daughter Wynonna, but she’s also survived abuse, severe depression, a trip to the psych ward, and a 1990 hepatitis C diagnosis, during which doctors gave her three years to live. Naomi says the support of her family — daughters Wynonna, 53, and actress Ashley Judd, 49, and her husband of 28 years, singer-manager Larry Strickland, 71 — certainly helped.

Review board to get update on mental health treatment of Calgary mass killer

CALGARY – A review panel is scheduled to get an update today on the mental health of a Calgary man found not criminally responsible for the stabbing deaths of five young people at a house party three years ago.

Matthew de Grood was suffering from a mental disorder when he attacked and killed Zackariah Rathwell, 21; Jordan Segura, 22; Josh Hunter, 23; Kaitlin Perras, 23, and Lawrence Hong, 27.

The judge in the case ruled de Grood didn’t appreciate his actions were wrong.

The two-day hearing, before the Alberta Review Board, comes just one week before the third anniversary of the attack.

At de Grood’s last board hearing in July, panel members were told he was responding well to treatment for schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress disorder.

The board can decide to keep de Grood in a secure hospital, allow him into the community with conditions or grant him a full discharge.

Update on mass killer Matthew de Grood’s mental health treatment coming this week

CALGARY A panel is to get an update this week on the mental-health treatment of a man who stabbed five young people to death at a house party three years ago.

A judge found Matthew de Grood not criminally responsible in the deaths of Zackariah Rathwell, 21; Jordan Segura, 22; Josh Hunter, 23; Kaitlin Perras, 23, and Lawrence Hong, 27.

Justice Eric Macklin said in his ruling that de Grood was suffering from a mental disorder at the time and did not appreciate his actions were wrong.

Ronda-Lee Rathwell, Zackariahs mother, said preparing for the Alberta Review Board hearing scheduled for Thursday and Friday has been a painful ordeal, especially with the anniversary of her sons death a week later.

This is the only voice that I have, she said of a victim impact statement she is trying to finish in time for the hearing.

I hate that all I can do is write
