Police Release Video of Suspect, Vehicle in Fatal Homeless Shooting Spree

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Las Vegas authorities were hoping video surveillance footage will help lead to the capture of an apparent spree killer who targeted homeless victims following four linked shootings last week that left two men dead and two others injured, according to investigators.

The first shooting happened outside the Green Valley Grocery in Logandale just after midnight Jan. 29, according to Las Vegas Metro Police Capt. Robert Plummer. Plummer told reporters Tuesday that an employee of the small store was outside near the business’ car wash when he was approached by a man in an SUV who asked for directions to a grocery store. When the victim told the man the town’s only grocery store was closed, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several rounds at the employee, hitting him once in the arm before fleeing the scene.

The employee was hospitalized with

Dept. of Public Safety video could save you in a mass shooting situation

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Public Safety wants to arm the public with knowledge in case they are ever confronted by an active shooter. DPS has created a video (below) that depicts a drill involving a gunman roaming through a building with the intent to kill.

“In today’s day and age unfortunately that’s really a matter of when, not if,” said Sgt. Nick Bricker, Utah DPS. “It’s sad to say that but that’s the case now.”

DPS partnered with the Utah Department of Administrative Services and shot the active shooter drill at the Utah State Office Building.  In the video, employees are seen hiding in closets, locking doors, barricading themselves in rooms and finding staplers, scissors and a clay pot as a weapon.

Troopers say a person only has three options in mass violence situation. “Either run, hide or fight and not necessarily in that order,” said Bricker.

He says your choice

Wes Anderson: Riley Flanagan Student Voices video entry

What famous person would you like to meet and why? That’s the question we posed to students in grades 7-8 and 9-12 in Monmouth and Ocean counties in our monthly Student Voices essay and video competition. Many of the answers surprised us. It wasn’t all rock stars and pro athletes. Devin Roughan of Point Pleasant Beach High School said she’d like to meet mass killer Ted Kaczynski to learn how the quiet, pet-loving genius of a kid turned into a domestic terrorist.  Emma Bogusz of Millstone Township Middle School would like to chat with Irena Sendler, who saved 2,500 children from the Nazis. And Andrew Downey of Eisenhower Middle School would prefer a conversation with Socrates to one with, say Eminem.

Sandy Hook families post video on how to spot signs of potential mass shooting

When 20 children and six educators were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, people across the US said: “Never again.”

Instead, family members of victims have watched as a series of increasingly deadly mass shooting attacks have occurred at schools, churches, baseball practices and concerts. Each time, the grieving families have waited for the reports showing that the shooter had not simply snapped: that there were warning signs missed, red flags that got no response.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting, a nonprofit founded by some of the family members of victims is releasing a new video with the message that it is possible to see the signs of a potential act of violence ahead of time – and that it is crucial to act on them.

The new video ad follows Evan, a viral video released last year

Video shows aftermath of pursuit of Texas killer | New York Post

Video shot by one of two men who chased the Texas church killer shows the scene where Devin Kelley lost control of his Ford Explorer, ended up in a ditch and blew himself away.

Johnnie Langendorff — who helped Stephen Willeford chase the mass killer for 10 miles after the massacre — took the footage, which shows cops with weapons drawn.

Willeford opened fire at Kelley, hitting him in the leg and torso, before the gunman sped off from First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs. As he peeled off, Kelley fired off some rounds through his window.

Langendorff hit speeds of up to 95 mph to catch up with Kelley, who hit a stop sign and veered off the road. Willeford said he got out of the vehicle, propped his rifle on the hood and ordered Kelley to come out.

Meanwhile, Langendorff directed traffic before police arrived a few minutes later. When they
